The recreational and educational centre of the ÚV KSS in the forests of the Small Carpathian Mountains was designed in the early seventies by Karol Paluš with full regard to the nature of the environment. He introduced a low hotel building in the form of an elegant horizontal structure set on the contour of a gentle slope and a set of small bungalows. The hotel section included a restaurant, lecture halls, club and classrooms for 90 people and a wide screen cinema which could also be used as a lecture hall for 120 visitors. Outdoors was a swimming pool and a multi-purpose field for ball games.
In the material solution, Paluš reached for a combination of stone and ceramic tiles, which emphasized the elongated glazing of the south façade of the main building. The simplicity of the architecture drowned in greenery was a reflection of Scandinavian architecture in our region. Since the Velvet Revolution, the complex has served as a purpose-built facility for the offices of the National Council of the Slovak Republic. The main building was enlarged by a later extension, which drowned out the gracefulness of the original work and its harmony with the landscape
